Ta’ Mena Estate is run by the Spiteri family: Joseph, Margaret, Philip, Mark and Patrick with their father, Frank.
The estate was founded by their late mother Carmela, popularly known as Mena (hence the name) but after her premature death in 1986 the project went on hold. In 2002 the Spiteri Family decided to start again to regenerate their 25 hectares of agricultural land and realize their mother’s dream of integrating agriculture with tourism.
Ta’ Mena Estate sets out to offer the visitor something beyond the tourist staple of sun and sea – a little insight into what is unique about Gozo - its history, folklore, culture and food. Guests learn about crops, trees and traditional food production and processing. Guided tours are offered around the estate’s vineyards and olive grove followed by wine, olive oil and food tastings.
Tours can be arranged any week-day.
The estate is open 9.30-17.00 and if you would just like to wander around the estate, this is free of charge and no pre-booking is necessary.
